Not at all what I expected.Terrible!

I decided to purchase it "just in case" so that I would always have the option to read the disc in my possession. There were no problems at all. After that, I put it away in the closet, and when I needed to read another disk a year (or two?) later, I got it out of the closet, but it was broken. The error message "Failed to request a USB device descriptor" was displayed in the device manager. It is unclear what caused this mistake. I attempted to connect to three different computers using two…

Pros
  • performed their duties for the first time
Cons
  • After a year of hiding out, he decided to give up his job.

Absolutely unusable product, not suitable for use.

I decided to purchase it due to the low pricing as well as the positive reviews. It turned out to be just a regular toy made in China! When recording into regular CDs, on the second day of use, approximately 50% of the recordings failed. After a week, just one of the four or five CDs could be burned successfully. In addition, the file that will be recorded is not very sophisticated and takes up very little space. The built-in drive was never the source of any issues. After using it for a month,

Pros
  • When reading discs, it is both inexpensive and rather quiet.
Cons
  • Easily broken, extremely loud when recording discs, and when recording, around half of the discs become stuck.

Good product but does not work with some DVD formats

This item was purchased for use with a small laptop/large laptop without a built in DVD reader. The main intended function was to download software onto the laptop. While it worked with all software on CDs and played video DVDs and data DVDs with no problems, it did not recognize DVDs with software for a commercial program, Photoshop Elements 10. I have verified that the DVD - the software disc is recognized by at least three other laptop or desktop computers with built-in DVD readers. However,

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Waiting too long

Works with SOME computers

I have Vista and it doesn't work at all with my PC. However, my husband's XP works great. At least it works, so we can do something, but I'd really like to make it work on my computer because I want to do everything in my own time, not his.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Can't remember

It works BUT in external components

The cable is too short, maybe 8 inches, so you are VERY limited on where you can place the device. The URL "Liteonodd.com" is printed on the box - nowhere in the literature is there a contact phone number or email address for support. I have type "A" USB ports and I had to use BOTH (which means I had to have TWO USB ports) to get enough power to run the device. In fact, I received a message that the device would not work at full capacity. speed, unless I have a "high-speed USB host controller"…

Pros
  • Comfortable
Cons
  • Legacy model
