Does the job for parts and components

I was worried about sand damaging the seals on my air shock so I bought this one. This is a real bitch to dress up but it fits and stays on really well afterwards. Slip the top end over the small bottom of the shock, then slide it up and secure the velcro further down as you go.

Extends the life of my shock without squeaking.

Seems to me, or does everyone have an annoying rear suspension squeak after too short a time? No matter how hard I try to keep it clean, a speck of dirt is enough. Lizard skin helps a lot. It is stretchy, snug fitting, conforming to the spring and protecting it from debris.

Works, fits very tight!

In the photo above the rear shock absorber on my 2002 Equator. The coil above the spring is 2" in diameter, the threaded shank is approximately 1-1/4" in diameter. The Lizard Skin rear shock barely covers the 2″ diameter shock, after a lot of pulling and stretching I was able to get it to work. Hope that helps. My fork shock covers are a different story.

Part was easy to install for the most part

Shock Bought for: Rockshox Monarch R Instructions were easy. The item was easy to install for the most part. Takes about 3 minutes or less. The only difficulty was tightening the boot around the shock absorber. It helps to have a second person help hold one end of the boot while you tighten the other around it. For this reason I gave this item 4 stars. I will post an update if needed when I finish the trial and leave.

What a great product

Okay, that's what I said about other LizardSkin products, but here it is again: I love it! This is my second full LizardSkin protection set that I have purchased. I got a bumper, fork and chain for my new Scott Spark. My previous set lasted about 15 years and when I took them off to sell the bike the surfaces they covered looked like new! I was very rough on my old bike and I don't hesitate to ride through dust or mud, rain, storm and all kinds of mud. The LizardSkin material never failed and…

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • Easy maintainability

Just a thin rectangular sheet of neoprene. I need to mount it on my Rockshox Monarch RC3 Plus Debonair to see how it works. I'll update the reviews and check back once I've installed it. But if you are looking for sizes, my photos show them. Update: 14th February 2020 ---------------- I bought 2 of these - one will be used for my Rockshox Monarch RC3 Plus large canister and the second is for my 100mm Pipette Fox transmission with external drive. I have to say my initial thoughts were that…
