Fits like a glove! - Kitchen and dining room

I really enjoy cooking with Lodge cast iron cookware. I have several of these hot pen holders for various pans but none for my smallest one which is 6.5 inches. I ordered it in black and it slipped right onto my pan. I tested it and it turns on and off easily. I usually remove them before washing so I can recolor them if needed. If left on and not seasoned regularly, the handles under the lid will rust. It was an optional item offered at a huge savings over other silicone hot pen holders. I'm…

Better than a regular saucepan

I bought a tiny house, regular Revain Basics, regular Lodge and 2 packs of quilted cast iron pan holders at the same time. Short review. They all work well, they are all loosely fixed in the pan. They should not remain in the pan, but put on during the action. The small stick handle is too small for my 12" pan but fits the smaller ones. I wish the quilted pans had a bit more padding, but they're adequate - even holding and maintaining hot pans keeps them cool enough. Results: My favorites are…

Not as useful as I thought

I got this because it's obvious that Lodge cast iron heats up quickly. The problem I have with this is that my hand is still very uncomfortable when it gets hot. I can still feel heat through that fairly thin handle, so I still have to use a towel or oven mitt to move it. It also doesn't slip off as easily, which is annoying when you want to clean the pan and doubly annoying when you want to put it in the oven, especially if you forgot to cook the pan on the stove and preheat it beforehand you…

but this mini holder fits the handle perfectly (and tightly)

This handle is fine - it's really there, so if you accidentally touch the handle while cooking you won't yell and/or you will not suffer burn. However, after the cast iron skillet has heated up for a while, the thing gets hot. I definitely use a hot pad as well when moving my Lodge pan. I don't blame the product for that because it touches cast iron and manages to stay within human tolerance despite the sheer amount of heat generated. Once I took off the handle while cooking and it cooled down…

Ouch! But it turns out ok.

Confused and accidentally ordered this mini silicone hot pen holder instead of the larger one. :-/ It fits my 10.25" and 12" pans snugly, but still wobbles the handle a bit when trying to grab a loaded pan with just one grip. This works well when using the assisted grip (with the silicone grip provided for that) and using two hands. I got my 10.25" for a hot 5 minute preheat with the handle already attached to light the sous vide steak and I was still able to grab the pan with my bare hands and
