Can someone help? Will not work with a Yamaha F350 4-stroke

I have two Yamaha 350 4-strokes. I'm trying to connect it to my NMEA 2000 so I can see the data on my Garmin 4012 chartplotter. The connectors are 100% compatible. But when I started it looks like the engine software is not recognized. After several months of searching. This cable only works with Yamaha 250 and below. If you want to pair a Yamaha 300/350 4-stroke engine to your old Garmin you will need to purchase Yamaha part number MAR-GTWAY-KT-00.

Pros
  • Good
Cons
  • Expensive

Worked great: Marine electronics

I connected this cable to my 2018 Yamaha F150XB and then to a NMEA 2000 backbone which was then connected to my Garmin Echomap 74 chartplotter. Engine readings (e.g. RPM, GPH, pressure, temperature, excluding hours) were displayed on the chartplotter's "Engine" screen. Easy and cheaper than buying Yamaha branded instruments. I don't know why "hours" are shown as dashes. Maybe this is Yamaha's ploy to get you to buy their instruments?

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Good but not great

Buy THIS as an alternative to the Yamaha CommandLINK system

Bought a 16 year old (25 foot) pontoon boat with a Yamaha F150 outboard. My boat has analog dials on the dashboard but I wanted to install a SIMRAD GO7 fish finder/GPS that can be hooked up to the engine. THIS interface cable works great and allows me to view all the engine data I want on SIMRAD (engine hours, suction, engine temp, oil pressure, etc.). DO NOT LET Yamaha talk you into using their CommandLINK system or whatever it is called (too expensive). All you need is this interface cable…

Pros
  • Heavy Duty
Cons
  • Was damaged

Works with Yamaha Sho 250 for Elite Ti

Installed on my Zx 250 Skater with Yamaha 250 Sho. Connected to the Lowrance 12 ti Elite. Aside from running the cable through the boat, installation was easy, just plug and play with a few minor modifications to allow the Lowrance to recognize the interface cable. Very happy with the purchase. I've got hours now reading, temp, boost, fuel consumption etc. I'd say overall the install could be done by anyone with a bit of creativity as the cable was a little tricky to catch.

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • unreliable

Worked great between Yamaha 250hp. 2014 and echocard Garmin 74cv

Worked great between Yamaha 250hp 2014 and Garmin 74cv echocard. Garmin could read RPM, fuel consumption, oil pressure and more without any additional software or hardware. I used the Model 124-69 NMEA Network Starter Kit purchased from Revain to connect to the backbone. Yes, this is a Lowrance part and is compatible with my Garmin and Yamaha 250hp motors. The hardest part of the installation was routing the interface cable through the engine harness to the boat transom, which is not…

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Some imperfections

Pays for research and purchases!

At a fraction of the price of a standard cable this NMEA 2000 cable fits perfectly in my Simrad MFD trunk and gives you complete information on the condition of my Yamaha F50 engine. A little worried about the integrity of the engine, I had my local dealer run the cable through the rubber plug on the front of the engine, along the wiring harness and up to the helm station. I realize I had to take some photos to illustrate this, but there are plenty of videos on YouTube on the subject…

Pros
  • 1 year trial
Cons
  • Quality
