Bought for my niece and nephews (8, 6 and 4). At the moment we're still playing checkers, but hopefully bigger players can move on to chess. I wanted a magnet because little ones often bang against the board. Only the chess pieces were magnetic, so we had several games of checkers that ended abruptly when the little brother hit the board. We're going to glue the magnets to the bricks. Overall, the quality is in line with the price!

I'm really impressed with this chess set, especially for the price. It's much nicer than I expected. As shown in the picture, despite the felt pads on the bottom, the magnetic chess pieces stay firmly on the board, which is really impressive. The felt pads ensure that the chess pieces glide smoothly across the board, so you don't have to worry about damaging the board. Checkers are fine, but they're not magnetic, meaning the game isn't as travel-friendly if you've tried playing in the back seat

As an avid chess player, I've been searching the market for a quality yet portable practice chess set.
