Description of 🔋 AquaTech Hydro-Sponge Filter

Experience crystal clear water, radiantly healthy freshwater or saltwater fish, and whisper-quiet, high flow filtration without constant cartridge replacements or a hazardous impeller. Quiet and easy to clean - simply rinse and squeeze in used tank water (not tap water!) to maintain nitrogen-fixing bacteria. Inner canister of filter can be filled with activated charcoal, carbon, or other media. Hooks up directly to a powerhead or pump, and the diffuser can replace air stones. To set up, simply assemble, bury the base, and connect an air hose. Soft foam filters across a wide surface area, creating bubbles to reduce protein buildup and increase oxygen. Ideal for low-current breeding, betta, discus, and turtle tanks. Fast-cycle a new tank by transferring a filter sponge from old to new. For even more pristine water and longer filter life, combine with ATI Filter Max pre-filtration or try our Hydro-Sponge Pro line.

Perfect for my fish

For use with my Fluval 406 in my 65 gallon aquarium. My water in my 8 goldfish tank is perfect for my fish. Yes I know I have more than what is recommended for the goldfish in my aquarium but for now that will not be a problem. They are happy and growing with my 7-10 water changes. A month ago I waited over 2 weeks to change the water because I was on vacation. Despite some algae (which I also attribute to the fact that I added a bouquet of plants a week before the holiday and some plants were…

The original and still the best sponge filter

I have 2 4 sponge hydro filters in my 150 gallon tank. One normal model, the other professional. There is no better sponge filter that I would consider. This is at the highest level. Nothing has changed since their first appearance. Instead, all follow the ati design. TO UPDATE. I have tried using an air stone and a disposable diffuser with this filter and I recommend not using them at all. Network. I would also like to point out that instead of changing the sponge every few years, I have…

I'm glad I switched to this sponge!

This 125g sponge works great in my 55g tank. Superfiltration is the best way! For reference, this sponge is about the size of a large toilet paper roll. It takes a day or two to remain submerged to the bottom of the tank after water has been pushed in and the brick left on it overnight. It works great to remove sand particles from the water when filling the tank. I've since switched to gravel, but setting sand down and using it as a buffer when I add water to the tank while filling has helped…

Excellent Filter Accessory Filter

I have a 100 gallon tank that I keep my large African cichlid in. I only use this filter and the results have been excellent. Keeps my aquarium crystal clear and easy to clean. I notice that when I clean the filter it gets a lot of dirt what it is supposed to do. It usually takes me a few flushes to fully clean the filter due to fine particles. The filter is quite large (but I needed that) and more than enough for a 100 gallon aquarium. However, be aware that when placing them in an aquarium…

Clean water cheap!

I recently reviewed another smaller sponge filter here. Sponge filters are AMAZING for your aquarium. The only downsides I can find are that they aren't pretty and they can't hold a lot of big stuff. To remedy this, you can hide it behind plants and decorations at any time and operate it with your power filter at any time for even more cleaning power. These things are a godsend for any aquarium. I recommend getting 2 for each tank. That way, if you ever need to quarantine your fish, you'll…
