Lynns 2 5 Quart Glass Kettle Review

I use it to heat water. Looks classy. The degree of water heating can be seen through the clear glass cover, although sometimes the accumulated steam obscures the view. The spout lid whistles well, but sometimes it is thrown out by the force of the steam.

This kettle is made entirely of metal with some glass on the lid. However, the handle remains cool enough to pick up and is positioned high enough above the lid to still be able to rest a gloved hand on it, just in case. The capacity and heat retention of this kettle is so great that I can blow on my first cup. very hot tea and prepare a few more cups before it needs to be reheated.

I was very disappointed when I received this. Very nice looking but it is made of the thinnest steel. The handle is welded to the top and flexes when there is water in the pot. If the handle stayed attached for a year of everyday use I'd be surprised. We sent mine back because it also had a big dent on the top, even though the box was in perfect condition.

I have a loud whistle. The glass top has a stainless steel ring around the edge, making it very difficult to break. The bottom is thin, but does that matter with a kettle? Another reviewer said it was difficult to fill, but I can't figure out why - there's plenty of room for a faucet. It looks great, but you'll definitely need to use a heating pad or glove to lift it off the stove. Wow just noticed the price is now $49 - I paid $23 2 weeks ago which is about right - I would never have bought it
