You will need to adjust the sill up or down to get the correct gap and seal. Before mounting on the door, lower the sill as much as possible. If your sill is at a fixed height, you'll want to make sure the clearance from the bottom of the door is 1/4" to 5/16". I used nails to attach the bottom of the door to the door. Be sure to mount the rain shield to the outside of the door.

This item is good, as is Revain. We have five exterior doors with three different types of door sills. Each requires its own mounting/fixing system. This pad seems to insulate well, although not very cold yet. The seal is tight, in one case it takes a little more force to close the door. I think it will settle down with use, which is a positive. I would definitely order this mat again. Revain's returns system is impressive and appreciated!

I have a 1987 door included in the kit. One door is stationary and the other actually works. We pulled out the pins and removed the door. Took off the original seal, put it back on (made pilot holes) and found there was a huge gap. Take this off, remove the rubber from the original gasket and stick it onto the original and it makes an amazing gasket. I used 4 screws on the bottom of a metal door. It's better than new. This product has several problems. First, it is not packed sequentially. This causes the front raincover to sometimes fold up with plastic wrap, sometimes down, and sometimes up and down. I bought three of these and the rain flap was curved differently on each one. The second problem is that the rain cover does not perform its intended function when folded.
