🔶 M-D Building Products TH043 Bronze Fluted Saddle, 1/4" x 6"-36 Review

Ordered and there is a clear tag on the front to say it should be 6" wide, actually the item size is only a 5. Sent back for exchange and same thing happens. Don't waste money on it.

The first item I ordered was 5 inches wide, not 6 inches as advertised. Sent it back for a replacement. A replacement arrived today, also 5 inches wide. The factory label is correct, the factory shrink wrap is intact, but the actual width is only 5 inches. Send back.

Looks like a good product but unfortunately it's not 6 inches wide and I needed more than 5.5 inches of coverage. There is a 6 inch decal on the tag as well as this listing but as you can see it is only 5 inches. So unfortunately I have to go back and try again.

Thick aluminum. Two reinforcement ribs. About 3/32 thick, not quite 1/8 but strong enough. The overall length was just over 36" and about 1/4" had to be cut off. The color is strong and smooth. I was repainting an old oak floor and needed something similar to cover the edge of the new floor and the unusually wide front door sill. I trimmed the stops to make room for it.

I ordered 4 of these for the carpenter to install in our doors. The bronze color goes perfectly with door handles and fittings. They arrived in perfect condition and the carpenter is coming to install them next week. He said they are durable and well made. My husband has a walker and our current sleepers are too difficult for him. I was looking for an ADA approved product and read the reviews written about the 72" size. Our doors are 36" wide so we ordered them in 1/4" x 6" x 36". .

Please note that this is aluminum and will need to be cut to fit the length and profile of your door. A hacksaw will do, but I used an angle grinder with a trimmed blade. It's one of those things where you better cut off a little and go back and forth, tweaking and reinstalling until it's just right.
