Must have padding to fully protect your garage from the elements.

The perfect seal for sealing your garage walls against wind and/or rain. The kit comes with bags of roofing nails but I didn't bother as they are huge and would look ugly. Instead I used my compressor and pneumatic stapler, bought stainless steel staples and was able to install all 3 garages in about half an hour. The seal is very flexible and fits easily into the garage opening. Produces an excellent seal. 1 pack is enough for 1.5 normal sized garages.

All doors closed!

Great product! The biggest trick seems to be figuring out how far from the door you need the long side to sit on and keeping it straight as you dress. I used small drywall screws instead of a hammer and nails - it was a lot easier for me to control the process - and with the nails, snow and ice would slide off the roof on ME! I have a 40 year old single garage so the one garage pack was enough for me to also leave the top and hinge side of our narrow screen door at about 5 inches. Nice bonus…

I love this product - building materials

I love this product. Spent $18 on this product, $4 for 3 (1.5" x 0.5" x 96") lumber at a home storage and additional hardware lying around in my garage. I have $22 total instead of paying $36 for that $9 home storage vinyl for a 9ft garage door seal.Basically I first cut the wood to length, drilled holes every 12" and countersunk them and put them in the Painted my house's siding paint 2. I use a heat gun to smooth the vinyl out as the product comes rolled up there are a lot of creases and…

Great price, fairly efficient and easy to install

I was able to install it myself but it was very difficult to fit the tallest parts - I'm short and don't have strength above my head. So I had a 91 inch piece and was trying to hold it right up against the door frame above me and keep the nail in place and it's not that easy to drive it in. All I needed was one person to hold it so I could get started, but that's not exactly what I have access to. I had to install it with the 1/2 inch nails and then adjust the placement and nails. So I have a…

It is great!

This product has been hanging on my door for over a decade, I only had to replace it because I reupholstered and resized it, otherwise the old stuff could have been replaced. It is very strong and durable. The old materials came with nice white roofing nails which I used but now the nails supplied are galvanized and look bad so I didn't use them. I used the screws shown in the photo, bought from Menard, they work much better. The strip does not require door panel sealant, the pressure of the…

It works... but it has a mind of its own.

I have a garage door with a lift mechanism and one that slides out from the outside and I needed both to fill in the gaps. On the fold I used some wooden boards on it to give it a nicer look and on the slider I attached it directly to the edge of the door with a couple of pan head sheet metal screws (also called rotary screws). and that closes the gap. when I close it but it gets brittle in cold weather so I redid it by putting a flashing strip on it that I cut from a coil trimming roll and the

Pros
  • One year trial
Cons
  • Reliability

Can be used in a barn but will look terrible in your garage. I tried this to seal a newly installed vinyl garage door. Even with the help of another person, it was impossible to install this flush finisher bracket around the garage. It was wavy and trimmed away to make it less noticeable. Add in the size of the nails and how they looked and overall it was very unattractive on the garage door which is at the front of the house. I replaced the nails and tried 1" white wood screws but it didn't…
