Much better than screwing into plastic

I use them for 3D printing. All you have to do is make a slightly smaller hole and insert it with a soldering iron. Much better than crashing into plastic!

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Pretty much everything is fine

Ideal for melting in 3D printing for screwing.

This is a great product that can be used for woodworking and 3D printing. Just use wood epoxy or melt it with a soldering iron to 3D print. Wonderful purchase!

Pros
  • Hands Free
Cons
  • Compatibility

Only 99 pieces came out in two different lengths.

I received two assignments of different lengths. 88pcs 5.1mm and 11pcs 6.3mm inserts, total 99 inserts. I won't complain too much considering I can still use them for my needs and the price is reasonable, but someone might be interested.

Pros
  • A sea of positive emotions
Cons
  • So-so

The OD in the description is wrong.

There are several different styles of these 3x5x5 brass inserts floating around. One is genuine m3 5x5mm and the other is genuine m3 5.4x5mm. This is a 5.4mm OD grade. For some people it won't matter much, but for me it's a deal breaker. It's quite annoying to have to pay 4-5 times what I usually pay when buying from China and the description is inaccurate.

Works but difficult to center.

Works, but I should get a star for how difficult it is to use. Without an alignment tab, these things are very difficult to center in the hole you are trying to fit them into. If I were to buy nut attachments like this again I would spend the extra money on ones that can be pulled down the hole. In the end, your project will come out much better than mine, which I've never been able to align perfectly after using it.

Pros
  • Great overall performance

  • Some cons

but first impression they are quite well made

Haven't had a chance to use them yet but first impression they are quite well made. I checked the threads with a couple of screws I had and they are nice and smooth. All parts appeared to be well made, there were no obvious defects and they looked consistent. I haven't played around with a caliper to check tolerances, it's just not that important for my application. Overall, I'm very happy with the quality of these earbuds, and for less than $4 for a pack of 100, you can't go wrong.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Long delivery time

Better than a pressed nut and much better than a packed thread.

Used to avoid seizing M3 nut in 3D printing. That way I don't have to worry about the nut falling off or getting lost because it's fused to the part. You'll need to poke something into the threads to keep the plastic from melting in the middle. I use some long M3 screws but you may prefer to use short set screws. Or maybe you want to scrape melted plastic off the threads of an installed nut. I don't know and I'm not your mother - you can do whatever you want.

Pros
  • Slim design
Cons
  • Vulgarity
