Fits perfectly on MAC knives

Great little sharpener to keep my MAC Professional knives sharp. I usually use a ceramic grinder and use Rollsharp every few weeks to touch up the edge as needed. It's very easy to use as it's designed to give your edge the right angle (15 degrees I think) needed for maximum sharpness. Definitely recommended for all MAC knife owners.

Pros
  • I hold my fists
Cons
  • Requires socket

Goes well with my Japanese knives

Japanese knives have a narrower angle and harder metal than German knives and are used differently. Most of my knives are from Germany and for these knives I use a high quality Chef's Choice electric sharpener. I have a good Japanese knife for finer cutting and I need a sharpener for this knife that sharpens at the right angle for this blade and this sharpener is just right for me. It's easy to use, does its job well, and is inexpensive.

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • No power

Rebranded Fiskars Sharpener - Not for Japanese knives - DO NOT BUY

Bought this item to sharpen/sharpen my Japanese knives. It actually dulled the knives. Upon closer inspection, it turns out that this sharpener is just a rebranded Fiskars knife sharpener with the MAC sticker stuck on. The Fiskars sharpener that appears to be most similar to this one actually has a 30 degree sharpening angle, not the advertised 15. The Revain seller - MVTRADING - is listed on the MAC website as an authorized seller. The sharpener ruined my knives. i will return it

Pros
  • Quality construction

  • Crumpled packaging

This thing works. in Kitchen & Dining

I'm still trying to figure out how this thing works so well, but it works. I was skeptical because of the price and also because it says nothing at all. I reluctantly punctured it several times with one of my cheaper knives and knew immediately that it worked. I speared it with one of my more expensive Japanese knives and it worked even better. Somehow multiple passes through this thing equates to nearly 10 minutes on multiple bars. If you see that, this thing won't make any sense to you, but…

Medium sharpener. in knife sharpener

It's just OK. I have several MAC knives and couldn't reset them to factory sharpness. I get much better results with a taper gauge and ceramic sharpening stones. I may not have used it properly, but I've tried it on MACS and other knives including Henckel's Twin Stars, Victorinox, and Chicago cutlery. All results were mediocre with this sharpener. Much better sharpener Lansky PS-MED01 Blade Medic. The carbide slot alone sharpens better than the rollsharp in my opinion and in my personal…

Great deal for the kitchen and dining room

This sharpener works very well. It doesn't quite sharpen my MAC knife factory, but it comes close. You need to move the knife back and forth about 10-15 times to get it really sharp. There is a review below saying it's fake but ignore that. I've bought a Rollsharp from this seller and direct from MAC Knife and both are identical and have Fiskar on them (even the same sticker on the side) . If you're buying this for a non-MAC knife, make sure your knife has a 15 degree angle and it should work.

Pros
  • Quick Change
Cons
  • Lots of Stuff

Best 15 degree knife sharpener.

I never leave reviews, ever. BUT this thing is so amazing. This does not work on European knives that have 20 degree angles on each side resulting in a 40 degree angle. It works with a Japanese style 15 degree knife. I used it on a Japanese style Costco knife set. These are amazing knives straight out of the box, but I've used them on my chef's knife and it's now twice as sharp, an intimidating sharpness. Use it before the blades dull or it stops working as well or not at all. Buy it with a new

I think it's fake

I've read other reviews on here, some like it some don't. The old reviews are the ones that loved it. New reviews are not very good. I think it's fake. I bought mine and it completely damaged my MAC knife. It scratched it and faded. I looked at it when it arrived and thought the thing looked like a piece of junk. It's not 15 degrees as advertised, I poured some water in the compartment and followed the instructions. I don't think it's a MAC sharpener at all. Friskar rebranding - this is what it

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • No instructions

Not for German/American knives

Works great with Japanese knives. I suspect a lot of the people defaming this are trying to sharpen European/American knives that were made with a 20 degree grind. Mac knives, like most Japanese knives and this sharpener, are sharpened at 15 degrees, so this won't work on them. many use. None of them "sharpen" the knife, they just correct the burr that forms with use. Sharpening knives is not an easy task. Get a whetstone or sharpener from Chef's Choice if you really want to sharpen your…
