Great fit! - Gaskets

Installed on a 03 330i with 267,000 miles. The set was excellent. Be sure to thoroughly clean the oil filter housing and mating surfaces on the block to ensure a trouble-free installation. Do not overtighten the block screws or you will strip the screws.

Pros
  • Easy to read panel
Cons

2002 BMW E46 Oil Filter Housing Gasket

OEM Gasket. Fits my BMW E46 02 oil filter housing. Mine was leaking so badly that oil was dripping onto my exhaust and the smell of burnt oil filled the cabin. The old seal was rotten and cracked. Now there is no leak. Thanks!

Pros
  • Positive Only
Cons
  • Low Repairability

Don't skimp on 3rd party seals

I made the mistake of buying a cheaper seal for my e39. I had to replace it within 5 months as the cheap stuff failed and my filter housing started leaking again. I just recently installed it and felt the difference when spinning. There are no leaks yet.

Pros
  • Large selection

Perfect replacement for a worn seal on the E46

Not the easiest of installs, especially if it's a mechanical fan clutch. However, if oil is leaking and you cannot find it, it is most likely coming from the oil filter housing gasket. The valve cover gasket is another common source, but it almost always leaks in the bottom corner first and you'll smell it in the cabin through the air vents. If you don't smell like burnt oil (streaks on the exhaust manifold) then you need this part.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Faulty

Perfect fit. Was a lot more flexible and a bit thicker than the old 80,000 mile seal. It's very difficult to tell if oil is leaking from this connection, but if it is, there is oil on the entire block, power steering hoses, and everything else underneath. While the repair wasn't entirely easy, it didn't go beyond a lot of homemade skill. It was installed on a 2004 BMW 330CI. This was my final attempt at stopping the oil leak by first replacing the valve cover gasket and VANOS line. I also…

Pros
  • Useful for more than its intended purpose
Cons
