This little o-ring solved the low oil pressure problem on my 2012 GMC Sierra. The old one shrank and hardened over time, causing the oil pump to draw in air instead of oil. If the oil pressure drops to zero shortly after starting, that's the solution.

Increased oil pressure from 22psi to 38-40psi at idle on a 2004 Tahoe 4.8L. I replaced the oil pressure sensor earlier. This solved the problem. The oil intake pipe no longer sucks in air and reduces the pressure. Recommend a new gasket and a manufacturer of Permatex gaskets on the 4 corners of the gasket where it connects to the block.
