Enhanced MAHLE Original OC 707 Oil Filter Review

Poor filtration, oil gets dirty faster than ever! I used to only use Mahle filters on all my Eurobrand cars and my wife's Crv, but now when I shop in Mexico and China I switch to Hengst filters.

The filter is smaller than the one I removed from the car when changing the oil. Supposed to fit my car. Yes, but I would have liked a bigger filter. I had no choice but to put it in as the oil was already drained.

I have bought these filters several times from Amazon and they came from Mexico where the Real Mahle company makes their filters for North America. Unfortunately, last time I came across Chinese fakes that were clearly fake. Mexico is written on the box and China on the filter. The quality cannot be compared.

Picture shows the factory filter type rounded o-ring. It's actually a typical aftermarket square seal like a Fram or Wix. It's not a bad part, just not what I expected from the picture. I gave it three stars because it's a common filter you can get at any auto parts store or Wal-Mart.

I use them on my wife's 2004 Kia Sorento with 195,000 miles. Startups are notorious for being noisy, and she doesn't like stepping on the accelerator when starting the car. This is how the car simply ticks! OMG (voiced by Bob from Burgers Bob). It solves that problem with a really good anti-drain check valve that actually works. Just get this filter every time.

Unfortunately, like some of the recent reviews, I also got a real cheap Chinese "version" of this filter with significantly worse components (middle tube, gasket and base plate). Revain MUST change the image to stop confusing customers about what they are actually getting! This is NOT a high quality "Mexican made" filter anymore and the "Chinese made version" is significantly worse. I am returning mine immediately and canceling my subscription to this filter!
