Holes need recutting

As mentioned in the other reviews the grub screw holes were not fully cut. Running a 6mm x 1.00 tap through the holes cleaned them up nicely.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Great price

No Instructions - Power Tools and Hand Tools

no instructions but youtube "university" has a video on how to assemble the parts. Makita could explain which bar is up and which bar is down.

Pros
  • nice thing
Cons
  • no machine

Two-piece design saves track surface

The two-piece design allows set screws to press against the underside of the connector rather than the relatively soft aluminum track. Seems like a lot of money but I think they are worth the price.

Pros
  • Very good value
Cons
  • Compatibility

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Very poor quality control, unusable.

I can only assume that this problem will be solved at some point in the Makita supply chain. Ordered this against my better judgment after reading another review that described basically the same problem, hoping it would be an isolated case. Had not.

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • A dubious purchase for seniors

MISALIGNED to power tool parts and accessories

I purchased these guides in two different lengths with a Makita saw. The system works well, but when you connect two different guides together, they don't match. The profiles are offset by approximately 1/16 inch. Considering the price and quality of Makita, I expected them to "fit". I have contacted Makita customer service but no solution yet. It's been over a month.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Lots of parts

Holes were not fully cut

I ordered a connector kit for my Makita rails. When first delivered, the bars were not cut to the end. I asked for a replacement. The second package had the same problem. I asked for another replacement. Revain Cust Service informed me that if they replaced the connector kit again I would likely have the same issue so they would send me a refund. So I have (2) rails that I can't connect.

Pros
  • Great for a small house
Cons
  • Some imperfections

Better link bars available

TSO Products makes cranks so much better. Makita rods are just flat rods with no architecture whatsoever. The TSO bars are designed to fit into the top gap in the corner slot of the rails. This molding inserts the exact configuration of the bar into the socket that contains the mating piece, so the fit is perfect and can't wobble. In addition, the TSO set screw has a very wide face for excellent surface contact pressure compared to a basic Makita set screw with very limited surface contact.

Pros
  • Great construction
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

It works, but it's like winning the lottery

First of all, it is important: it works. Yes, there was a problem with the threads, they weren't clean enough. I didn't have a faucet so I took a set screw from the kit (there is an extra one) and carefully threaded it through the entire thread, doing 3/4 turns forward and 1/2 back and adding a drop of oil to all the holes. If you try this, make sure you start on the right side - the one opposite the small ledges with ledges. one works with it) Besides, it worked. I couldn't find any…

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • There are more interesting options.
