Great dust collector, but there is one major downside.

Great little vacuum cleaner. Enough power and performance for most cutting, grinding and milling applications. The long hose and carrying strap are very practical. The only reason I can't give 5 stars is that the vacuum doesn't come with hose connectors for some/all Makita tools that have a vacuum adapter. Overall good value for money and dust at work (free).

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Everything great

Average at best. about power and hand tools

I agree with the other reviewer this is not the best Makita has to offer. The vacuum is the same as that of a small vacuum cleaner. The collection bag acts as the only filter. I haven't had any problems with my batteries. However, it is better to use it outdoors or not to collect small particles. Since the bag is the only filter, dust will come out if you bump it against something, much like a vacuum cleaner filter in a store. Picks up sawdust and small waste well.

Easily broken and often falls out

I'm a big fan of Makita. Everything I buy is Makita because I'm consistently impressed with the quality and performance. That's more than not enough. I have 15 5 amp and 11 2 and 3 amp batteries, everything I use enters star protection. I'll be lucky if I can get 2 minutes with a fully charged 5 amp. To top it off, a few weeks after purchase, the dust bag connector completely detached. There is no way to get a replacement as this device (after searching for a new case for several days) is not…

Works well but has a few issues

I am a professional carpenter and plumber. I bought this to quickly tidy up in and around finished closets without finding an outlet. I've had it in continuous use for 9 months. Pros: - Gets the job done and has good suction - Comes with a shoulder strap and is versatile - Hose fits Makita tools - Great for remote work and small jobs - High (loud) and low (quiet) settings Cons: - Uses batteries (especially 5 Ah) - the hose is inconvenient for storage during transport - when cleaning large…

Something is really wrong

85% of my cordless tools are made by Makita and they're fantastic. This collector is a big disappointment. During operation, it sucks up chips from my Makita cordless planer or dust from a circular saw. The perfect pack and pack size, it fits nicely in a medium sized Milwaukee suitcase. The problem is killing the 5.0 battery. Running time 10 seconds before battery protection stops it. I sent the first one back and the replacement does the same. I cleaned the bag completely and the same result…
