I would say so far so good. We had unexpectedly chilly nights in North Carolina in November and the old jacket was too thin for my kid at his outdoor school. My 4 year old son has been wearing size 5 shirts for almost a year and at a flea market we bought a light size 6 coat which is a bit too big for him but he can wear it. So I ordered 5/6. It's too big, and we're moving to Texas this winter (but not so soon that he doesn't need a thick winter coat in North Dakota), so I can't keep him next year. Bought this coat a size 12/14 for my grandson who is 10 years old very thin child. I thought I'd buy a coat for him to wear this year and next. Unfortunately, he will only wear it this year. But it's a very nice coat, well cut, it looks light, but it keeps you warm, that's the main thing! I gave this coat a 4 purely for the fit.

I advise you to order a size (or two) smaller if you plan on wearing this suit with your child. I have a 5 year old grandson and I bought a size 5 and I'm sure it will fit my 8 year old granddaughter. Otherwise this is a very nice coat. The heavier side is for colder winters and the ribbing on the sleeves and hood are well finished. Overall this is excellent value for money. Just trust me when I say it works MORE than expected.

Love this coat! I ended up ordering one in different colors/styles for each of my kids because I really liked the coat. I ordered the larger side so my kids could wear them longer and they fit exactly as I expected/hoped! The fur on the hood is not super thick, but very soft!
