Will not maintain gallon container temperature within 10 degrees

I have used aquarium heaters in the past, however, to keep yeast temperatures stable when fermenting beer in large 55 gallon kegs over the winter. I'd like to keep them instead. They worked like a charm, maintaining a more or less stable temperature within 1-2 degrees Fahrenheit. And I only paid $8 for it in 2014. This is a real disaster. It works when the water temperature exceeds the nominal and the temperature drops 10 degrees overnight, which is why I bought it. I thought I had a bad device

Using a 200 watt version in a 45 gallon sealed tank. As many have noted, the temperature scale is not accurate, so I didn't expect to get the exact temperature through trial and error. What I didn't expect was drift or balance time. My goal is to keep the water temperature at 79-80°. I set this to 79 degrees which resulted in my tank reaching 76.5° after 24 hours. After several days of trial and error and setting the dial at 83°, the water temperature reached 79.5°. But for some reason the…

Failed in 6 months, killed my blood parrot and many molly broods

I bought this for a 29 gallon aquarium to use as a blood parrot starter tank. cichlid. However, due to some aggression from the male mollys, who settled a few months after the bloody parrot was in a large community aquarium, he also settled in that aquarium with several females. worked for these guys. The cichlids were quite shy and became much more interactive once they were added without ever disturbing the Mollys or their young. The male quickly realized that he wasn't the coolest guy in the
