Well nothing to say about that, it fits my penguin bio wheel filter and water flows through it. It didn't have tiny blue caps on each end so it could sit right in the filter like my others.

As can be seen in the picture, material separation. I believe this is a defect. Because the water gets trapped and the wheel doesn't turn. I swapped it out right away and the new one works GREAT at first and then slows down and keeps stopping. The instructions say it still filters even when it's not moving. That's not true, my water turns yellow if it's not moving properly.

Placed an order on 15th September 2010 for a complete Penguin Biowheel and 6 packs of filter cartridges. Received notification that the items were shipped the next day and both items were billed. Received the package around September 21st with only 6 pack filter cartridges and no Bio Wheel assembly. On 25th September 2010 we contacted the seller to request the status of the Biorad assembly and on 27th September 2010 they were told the item was out of stock and would be shipped as soon as it was
