Description of 🧢 Markwort C-FLAP Guard

Innovative design of the C-Flap helps prevent serious injuries to the batter's cheek and jaw. Easily mounts to the ear flap of the batting helmet, covering the side of the face exposed to the pitcher, without obstructing vision or air flow. Lexan plastic construction of the C-Flap is stronger than most batting helmets. Padded inner surface provides added protection. Instructions and hardware included. Also see information and installation video.

My son loves it in sports

My son requested a helmet with a face shield. We didn't want to buy a new helmet and couldn't find anything in stock to fit his old Mizuno, so we went with this one. I was worried that we wouldn't be able to put it on properly, but that wasn't a problem. We reused an existing screw hole that previously had a latch. Then I drilled two additional holes. Even if the C-Flap is not flush with the helmet, that is not a problem as it is held in place by 3 screws. Drilling was easy and we just glued…

Pros
  • Easily attaches to a baseball helmet's earflap and covers the pitcher's face without impeding vision or airflow
Cons
  • No instructions

Buyers beware - this valve is not worth the cost, time and effort.

Initially the color didn't match my son's helmet but we decided to give it a try anyway. What the list doesn't say is that in order to be able to drill holes in your child's helmet to attach the flap, you have to cut and remove the padding inside the helmet. If you manage to remove all of this without completely destroying the padding inside the helmet at the temples, you'll have to deal with a helmet-integrated chin strap snap, and it's impossible to remove. The flap will not fit on the…

Fits our Mizuno Pedestal Bags

Like anything that's a 'universal' mount, I'm sure it will fit some helmets better than others. In our case it goes very well with my 9 year old Mizuno. In any case, your child must be accessible so that you can place the protection in the best possible position for safety and visibility. I drilled two holes and used an existing hole. Total installation time was about 20 minutes. I'd like it in a matte finish, but functionality is more important than style here. My son was very happy about it…

Requires assembly best in punching bags

Not sure why more companies don't make helmets with C-Flaps. It's something of a necessary piece of equipment when the kids reach the kids section where the kids throw in front of the other kids for the first time. Pros: Because you have to attach it to your helmet, there's plenty of room for customization. You can attach the C key at an angle that works best for the player, although there is a guide/template if you just want to follow along. Of course, if you don't want to use a stencil, you…
