This product really works but you need to understand HOW it works. It doesn't remove ammonia from your pond, it simply neutralizes it. This way your test strips will still show a high level of ammonia even though it is a SAFE level of ammonia. So how am I supposed to judge? A slow fish means an application is needed, a happy fish means the water is ok. The best you can do with this product.

This product does exactly what it says it does, Ammonia DETOX. Ammonia tests will still test positive for ammonia as it is still present but not in a toxic state. I have sworn by this for many years in my somewhat overcrowded pond. The other reviewers here clearly don't understand how this product works. Pond care products are the best pond products on the market and affordable too.

I bought this for two reasons. 1.) I just switched the substrate in my 55 gallon tank from gravel to sand. I knew that this way I would lose a lot of good bacteria and I would have a minicycle. 2.) In one of my aquariums the fish were treated in quarantine. I've learned the hard way that most medications kill ALL bacteria.
