Being able to stretch out in any direction made it easy to give my pup plenty of space and since there was no one around me, he stretched out. Plenty of room for a 12lb regular weight cat and a 15lb long cat. The shutters are an absolute find. When the carrier is fully closed they can be folded onto the animal, but failing to fully close the flaps will prevent this. Keep in mind that this is above regulation for most airlines.
