Description of Maximize Fermentation with Masontops Pickle Pipes - Waterless Airlock Lids for Wide Mouth Mason Jars - Top Quality Silicone Caps

EASIEST MASON JAR FERMENTING AIRLOCK: These premium quality self burping ferment caps have a one way waterless valve to vent gas automatically while home fermenting vegetables. This simple one-piece airlock requires no water, burping or maintenance. FOOLPROOF FERMENTATION: Fermenting veggies is tricky without the right pickling supplies and equipment. Strong pressure presents & can blow off the cover or even burst the glass. Open air can spoil the ferments so our own-way valve prevents spoilage. MAKE PROBIOTIC-RICH FOOD AT HOME: Ferment your own sauerkraut, pickles, kimchi & more. Pickle Pipes can ferment any vegetable from cabbage to carrots, cucumbers, tomatoes, garlic, radishes & more. Get your probiotics economically & naturally at home!. LOW PROFILE DESIGN: Our waterless pipe system is comprised of a low-profile lid that makes storage easier. Our silicone airlocks valve design take up less space and allow you to conveniently store your fermenting vegetables in cupboards and drawers. FOOD & DISHWASHER SAFE: Your Pickle Pipes are made of premium quality food-safe silicone. They are BPA-free & contain no phthalates, but are tough and durable and easy to clean. They can go into your dishwasher along with your wide mouth mason jars.

Eliminates the hassle of making sauerkraut

I've been making sauerkraut for years, but I constantly worry about the overflowing jar sloshing over the counter; and the contents do not ferment or spoil. I've used all sorts of products that claim to help with fermentation issues. Nothing worked until these little kids. They are cool! I was totally amazed at how easy they are to use, clean and work great. I just mixed the cabbage with some salt, put it in a jar and screwed on one of these little guys. My cabbage is perfectly fermented in…

Pros
  • Great value
Cons
  • Neutral

Well they are easy to use and not difficult to clean. However, if the liquid/brine is too high above the neck of the vessel, the liquid will be pushed up through the opening as it ferments. It took me a few tries to figure out how to fill the jar just enough to easily remove my jar weights (that's a different product), but not so much that the liquid got into the opening of these lids and overflowed. In addition, ventilation is not automatic. Or maybe I'm just not patient enough. I watch my…

Pros
  • Great for a small house
Cons
  • I have no dislike, everything is fine

Do not use, only use water channel fermentation kits.

Well I'd happily return it. What a waste of money. This is the first time I've had yeast that, even though I removed it, turned into mold, straight into mold, and lost all but 1 jar that had a brine tube on it. All cans with a water channel came out perfectly. So, in addition to their high cost, I was also wasting the time, effort, labor, and expense of fresh produce at the farmer's market that I was using, resulting in about $100.00 in waste. I also have the 49.99 kettlebell and pound set…

Not my favorite fermentation lids

I have yet to test them out but so far I haven't had much luck with enzymes they use and stinks after weeks of waiting just to pour a gallon out of a cabbage. Many enzymes are moldy (blue/green and unsafe) or white Kama yeast (undesirable but tolerable). I seem to have had better luck with the Easy Fermenter lids so far, which is a shame as they were cheaper and I really wanted to love them. I bought this set to have more caps as I was increasing the number of batches I had at one time. Batches

Best but expensive

I've been wandering around for a while. I've had glitches with waterlocks, but never a failed fermentation with these. Not to say it can't happen, but if you choose the right products, don't contain chemicals and wax, and if you sanitize the jar, weight, and lid, these lids will greatly minimize the chances of a failed fermentation. Pros: Easiest to use. , easy to clean, durable and flexible material, consistently excellent quality. Cons: Very expensive for 4 silicone sheets sold in a cheap…

Almost perfect

So I'm updating my review after reading some other customer reviews. This is important, so please note: 1. These 1-way silicone valve caps are completely foolproof as long as you don't damage them.2. Some users have complained about mold etc in their enzymes. That's because they didn't use enough salt or moldy veggies, or they just didn't wash. The salt-based enzyme is so good it can be made without a valve. You can simply put the lid on loosely and everything works perfectly. It's lactobacilli

Pros
  • Handy item
Cons
  • So far so good
