MASTERCOOL 52225 Infrared Thermometer Laser Review

This is my first infrared thermometer I have ever bought. In terms of spot testing, the measurements are easily reproducible and appear accurate (I don't have equipment to test accuracy). The device is very easy to use. I just had to use the manual to activate the red laser pointer. The trigger button on the pistol is a bit tight. This infrared thermometer is very easy to use and very practical. As well as monitoring the cooking temperature in my cookware - found out where heat/cold leaks occur in all places in my house - checked various parts of my fridge/freezer for chilling and freezing levels - checked the outside temperature after a few seconds - keep track of it Eye, how cold or hot it gets in my car - and the list keeps getting longer. This is a good little versatile instrument and the contact thermometer part is accurate as far as I can tell. However, for some reason, the IR thermometer shows 2-3 degrees less. I contacted Mastercool Support and they said to return the product for repair or exchange, which I did. This is my second (replacement) unit and its readings are as low as the first. Mastercool support then said to adjust the emissivity setting so that the IR sensor reads the same as the contact sensor. This is not an…
