Matfer Bourgeat Nylon Dough 🍰 Scraper for Efficient Scrapping and Baking Review

Received from The Times on the recommendation of Alison Roman. Great for baking but also finds wide use on a chopping board for preparing vegetables. The shape makes it easy to remove the dough from the bowl. The only issue I had is that it needs to be dried and stored flat to keep it from curling. A little warm water and it will be pliable, but it's best to have it ready.

saw this in a review on youtube and read all the comments here and was dying to buy for me and my wife ( we are both professional cooks ) if it honestly does what needs to be done but I believe there is no need to exaggerate views. I have seen scrapers of better or equal quality but four times cheaper. By the way, because of the opaque color, it is not found on a cutting board. At least they can provide other visible color options.

Before looking at sizes, make sure it's the size you expect. It's terribly small for its price. But it works fine. Although this is not a disadvantage of the product, you should be aware that if you have white countertops, you will miss this a lot. I have a hard time finding it because it glares so well. If that's an issue, you might find one that has more contrast. All in all very flexible serves its purpose.

I bought several of these to replace the one my mother bought in Paris many years ago. Although the name has stayed the same, the product has definitely changed. The original (most valuable) scraper was made from heavy duty opaque nylon that held up very well for up to 20+ years and was dishwasher safe after use. I bought a Matt Nylon spatula to use with two King Author Flour brand plastic spatulas replace that wear out. Specifically, I'm replacing the "heavy" orange KAF variant and its simple white spatula.
