Reliable and easy to install

Now that I'm using an automatic water fill for my hydroponic system, I love these float switches. They are very easy to install and their installation was automatically waterproof without additional tape or sealant. I run them in a small PLC so they don't leak motor current. Very important. I need more for the system next year

Pros
  • Aquarium Pumps and Filters
Cons
  • So far so good

Used in my carp pond refill system

I used a pair of these level switches in series (for redundancy) in the system to keep my carp pond filled. I ended up using current through these switches to activate a small relay as the (presumably reed) switches were not powerful enough to handle the current needed to power a pair of solenoid operated irrigation valves. They worked fine, but I don't have much time for them yet. If they last more than a year I will try to remember to upgrade this rating to 5 stars.

Pros
  • Pet supplies
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly

Worked fine; Just make sure you use it properly.

Works exactly as it should. Some users experience crashes, probably due to incorrect application of the sensors. These are SENSORS, not switches. They should only be used in pilot mode (low or no current load) and connected to a relay that can control the power of the load. In the case of inductive loads such as small motors, starting currents can be up to 8 times the specified operating current. "Unsuccessful closing" is a sure sign of welded contacts due to excessive current. These are…
