Great for a '94 Acura Integra

Very easy to install and made my hatchback like new! The only problem I had was figuring out the length as the hatchback didn't seem "big" enough. Read somewhere on the Internet how to solve the problem. On the Integra, insert the bottom end with the eyelet hole first, then snap the top into the new ball seat on the sunroof and raise the sunroof higher than normal. A great way to make this an easy DIY project instead of an expensive mechanical fix!

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

Works well but hits the body

Fits 1998 Integra. Not as smooth as stock Showa struts, but it works. I can lift it halfway and the hatch opens all the way. When fully extended it makes a "pulling" or "scratching" sound, it may need lubrication. There is more resistance on the way down, so close the hatch tight! I noticed the trunk lights the next day when I walked into my garage and the hatch was closed but not latched. The biggest complaint is when it hits the body, I have two marks where the paint has peeled off due to the

Pros
  • Great finish
Cons
  • Damaged

Not OEM but they work. Considering the price, if they last, they're worth four stars. They install very differently than the originals and there are no instructions, so some guesswork is required to install them. I think I guessed right because they work. The original had swivels on both ends, they only had a swivel on one end so there is some torque which can cause excessive wear on the plastic bushing provided. In the end I bet they will last until the car dies (3 to 5 years) so they are good

Pros
  • Durable finish

  • I will add later

They worked, with brief interruptions.

When I first tried to install gas struts there were a few concerns. Because they are turned upside down first. The originals have a cylinder at the bottom, these have a cylinder at the top. Otherwise they work great. But the instructions are useless. E clip is no problem. He went easy and came back pretty easy. The problem was at the end of the ball. New racks come with a small plastic bag with ball fittings and a new E-clamp. DO NOT LOAD THE NEW BALL INTO THE RACK FIRST! Using the supplied…

  • Best in its niche

It's not rocket science but instructions would be nice

These frames come without instructions. They work great once you get the hang of it. This isn't rocket science. My instructions are as follows: First off, these braces are designed to mount just backwards from the OEM sunroof spacers. In other words, the end of the gas cylinder is attached to the hatch, and the end of the rod is attached to the body. Tools needed: 12mm open-end wrench 5/8" open-end wrench (grievance, almost everything else in the car is metric) Support (wood, plastic pipe or…

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Almost OK
