Maxpow Xterra 2005-2015 Rear Tailgate Struts: Liftgate Hydraulic Shocks Dampers, 2Pcs Review

I bought these to replace the kit on my 2006 Nissan Xterra. I watched a YouTube video on how to install them and it's a very quick and easy process. All you need is a flathead screwdriver to pry off the old clips and someone or something to hold the tailgate while you make the replacement. They work really well, keeping my back door like new. I've only had them for about a month so can't comment on reliability or build quality but for now I'm glad I bought them.

Bought these for my '05 Xterra hatchback because the old one was 14 years old and it was time to replace them. Received them today and couldn't wait to replace them, my husband did both in less than 10 minutes. He removed the clips at each end of the old ones, took them off and put the new ones on and they had new clips that could be slid down to hold them in place. I first bought these over a year ago and they have been fantastic. Very durable, survived the winter well. Would recommend to anyone with an Xterra. Update November 10, 2020: These pillars are still too difficult to close. The wife keeps complaining and I thought the struts would weaken a bit with daily use. Apparently this isn't the case so I ordered another set of racks hoping they would be easier to close. I can no longer recommend this product. Rating to 2 stars.
