Easy to install, works well

I bought these to replace the kit on my 2006 Nissan Xterra. I watched a YouTube video on how to install them and it's a very quick and easy process. All you need is a flathead screwdriver to pry off the old clips and someone or something to hold the tailgate while you make the replacement. They work really well, keeping my back door like new. I've only had them for about a month so can't comment on reliability or build quality but for now I'm glad I bought them.

Easy and quick installation!

Bought these for my '05 Xterra hatchback because the old one was 14 years old and it was time to replace them. Received them today and couldn't wait to replace them, my husband did both in less than 10 minutes. He removed the clips at each end of the old ones, took them off and put the new ones on and they had new clips that could be slid down to hold them in place. We were so surprised how easy and quick it was. Now I don't have to hold the hatch with my head lol. Very interesting little…

Really easy exchange!

After months of narrowly avoiding bruising or possibly decapitation from the tailgate of my 2007 XTerra for fear of a potential $300 bill at an auto repair shop, I finally did some research and found this Revain- Strut parts found. Unfortunately, racks arrived without instructions for replacement. But thanks to a nice guy who posted his replacement on YouTube, I took off the old ones and put on the new ones in less than 10 minutes. They are really very easy to replace so I would highly…

The quality has dropped significantly

I first bought these over a year ago and they have been fantastic. Very durable, survived the winter well. Would recommend to anyone with an Xterra. Bought another car recently and bought this one again. They *hardly* get up on their own and won't open fully unless I help them. I thought it was a bad set so I ordered a replacement and marked the rest as defective. Got new ones yesterday and same offer. They had the same number and date (6137, 05/2021) so maybe the whole batch was bad but who…

Very strong pillars for our 2006 Xterra's tailgate

Update November 10, 2020: These pillars are still too difficult to close. The wife keeps complaining and I thought the struts would weaken a bit with daily use. Apparently this isn't the case so I ordered another set of racks hoping they would be easier to close. I can no longer recommend this product. Rating to 2 stars. So far we've gone through several sets of rear sunroof pillars due to normal wear and tear. This particular set is a huge struggle just to close the tailgate! The pressure on…

A simple and cheap DIY solution that works!

This is GREAT! Highly recommended. I've banged my head on the back door of my Xterra - or raised it up and down over time - so hard it probably resulted in multiple concussions. That's probably why it took me so long to ask the dealer how much they want to charge for the repair. When I finally remembered them, they didn't disappoint. I think the sticker shock figure is around $300-$400 to replace both. what?!? I found them at Revain for 1/10th the price. A buddy helped me install both in less…

A simple solution to an annoying problem!

My Xterra's sunroof sagged and was such a nuisance but I just lived with it forever because I didn't realize how easy it would be to fix! I ended up complaining one day after banging my head on a low door for the hundredth time and my fiancé casually mentioned that we could buy new racks at the dealership. Broadened my horizons. As a savvy shopper, I found these guys at Revain and not much less than what the store was asking for. When they arrived we watched a short youtube video of the…
