Hookworms!: Cycling

Love these tires. Do them on my motorized bike that goes up to 54 miles per hour. They grip in the dry like no other and work surprisingly well in the wet.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Available in white only

Pictures are wrong

Wow, looks like motorcycle tires, great grip on my mountain bike that I wanted to use for my commuter train. It's only 4 miles to work and I wanted to keep my work clothes on. They're BIG, but they drive great. As others have said they need to be printed on both sides to close the deal. Would love to get a 2.0/2.2 for an old bike with rim brakes. If these fit, I would buy another set.

Urban Warriors - Sports

Ride them on a Bianchi single speed mountain bike and they're awesome! I'm driving around town and hookworms have replaced the skinny Continental slicks. The tires roll perfectly, almost silently. Curbs, potholes, dirt roads don't bother these villains. This is the max amount of rubber I could put on the bike and they look amazing although I wish they had lettering on both sides. The downsides are what a lot of people have pointed out in previous reviews - they're heavy (I live on the fourth…

Smooth - fast roll - handles bumps well

smooth ! That's a big plus! 36 km/h downhill. Initially worried it wouldn't fit on a 20 year old full suspension GT mountain bike. I've been driving the GEAX Roadster 26x 1.5 street and street for 15 years and it's time for a new tire. This tire is a little heavier, but my bike still weighs a ton. This tire runs smoothly and handles bumps and potholes very well. I'm feeling a bit bloated but I'll bump it up to 60psi and see if that makes a difference. I've had the tire for a few weeks and…

The best tire I've tried for road use.

Bought for my bike and have nothing but good things to say it sticks to dry rain mud and light mud. Drives calmly and quietly. "Update" I've only been riding these tires for a few days without a year. They can handle speeds of up to 60 km/h easily and with little wear over long distances. I've ridden through snow and ice, through torrential rain and still water and on nice dry days. I have exactly zero complaints. Despite not having an aggressive profile they somehow performed well on almost…

Fits 54 CM Surly LHT (26 " wheels)

These tires are heavy at 2.5 pounds but my Schwalbe Marathon 2" tires weigh about 2 pounds each. Mounted on 1" wide rims, the tires are inflated to a width of 60mm (2.3" to 2.4") and also measure 60mm from rim to tarmac. The narrowest front wheel clearance is at the protruding clevis - I have 1.2mm clearance on each side of the wheel. In the rear I have a gap of about 2mm on each side. The chain rubs slightly on the rear tire when I am in lowest gear for climbing. The ride is very soft and…

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Easily wrinkled

Defective tyres: tire

I've only heard good things about this tire so I bought it and it was a nightmare. It turns out that this tire has small metal threads that are steel belts that come loose in the tire and puncture my tube and flatten me, and replacing my tire on my bike is not an easy task. A total of 6 punctures and I've owned this tire less than a week. Upon further investigation, it turns out that the Hookworm tire is definitely a defective tire. Will I be compensated for this? I really hope so. I have…
