Typical Mayhew Quality, Made in USA

Non sparking brass punches well made in USA. One of the few instruments still made in the USA. Most other instrument manufacturers have sold their products to China. is there a difference Absolutely. I have a hard time finding anything made in the USA. Mayhew remains committed to making quality instruments.

I always need a pair of brass punches

I always need a pair of brass punches and now that I have them I don't have to ignore some instructions the next time I need a brass punch (If you don't use a brass punch , damage the finish or cause sparks) They look fine, but I'll update this review in 30 years and let you all know if they fungus.

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Nothing

Good price for a set

The price stays the same if you buy each item individually. This set gives you a plastic container to keep them together as a set. I don't know how long this plastic container will last. So far this plastic container has served its purpose. The 3/8 inch size was overkill for my needs and I don't need it now but may need it in the future.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Useless features

A+ quality. fits hand tools

Mayhew has an excellent reputation for quality products so I didn't hesitate to try this set. I was very lucky and was able to get them for less than $30 with shipping, but even at the regular price they are worth it. They are very nicely made and a bit heavier than I expected so should be perfect for my needs. Cheaper alternatives are always available, but they're still reasonably priced and still made in the USA. And that, in my opinion, is worth the extra investment.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Good but not great

Superb brass knockouts

brass knockouts are fully consistent with the description. Good quality. Made in the USA. The price is reasonable considering the material and weight. I use them to rate CV axles in 4WD front diffs. My only criticism is that I wish there were more differences in length, ie. H.) I wish the biggest drift was maybe 6 inches longer and the middle one maybe 2-3 inches longer. This would make the 3 piece set more versatile. Be sure to wear latex or nitrile gloves when handling thisβ€”otherwise you…

Competitive price and fine workmanship.

I've only used a medium sized mandrel so far but it seems pretty solid. I had to respeed a very old turbo and the center section really liked its connection to the turbine housing. After hitting the Kroil multiple times over the course of several days, I still couldn't move the center piece. On the advice of a local turbo builder, I bought these punches, clamped the turbine housing in a vise, and used a heavy hammer and a medium-sized punch to get to work on the center section. After a little…

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • No instructions

Comments are limited to product

What did I like? I think it looked like a good product. It is difficult to make a poor quality brass drift. I liked that there were 3 different sizes in the set. What did I not like? I didn't like the part that wasn't in the kit when it was delivered. It was supposed to be of the same quality as the other items in the set but I couldn't verify that. What did I use it for? I wanted to use it to knock out axles on pallet jacks, but I couldn't complete the task because the punch I was trying to…

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Definitely bad product
