Our tree is on wheels and probably wider at the base than most so I wrapped it around the Fabuloso bottle and it looks great. Easy to cut and trim and this is exactly the look we were aiming for.

It was great. I will use it every year because I attach it with velcro and I don't have to look at the metal bar. It had a lot of material and I could make another tree if needed. I have to say that the packaging tore at the crease, that's why I gave 4 stars.

I took a risk by purchasing this product. I was hoping this would mask the false pole at the base of our fake tree. Winner! Is it ideal, no. Is it easy, no. However, after trimming it and finding the best way to attach it, I think it did exactly what I was hoping for. I was thinking about a tree collar this year. But the prices for such collars were out of my budget. Gum Bark for Victory!

No more flimsy green pole supporting my Christmas tree. I couldn't find a tree collar that was high enough in the price range I wanted. I saw this bark material and decided to give it a try. I didn't crop it; I folded it to the length I wanted, then wrapped it around and pulled it up and down just enough to hold it in place. I pulled the wooden skirt up just enough to hide the bottom drawstring (4 included). Problem solved!

UPDATE: Took the DIY commenter's advice and wrapped and taped the material onto a tennis ball can. I can't take the decorated tree off the stand to install the updated version, but I'm ready for next year! Do this BEFORE placing the tree on the stand. (originally) I was hoping it would be more self-supporting, but I had to build a thin trunk before I could cut and wrap the tree's bark around it. Not an easy process, but it looks better than it was.

Seen many versions of this, from $8 to $22. I chose it because it's cheap and flexible. I didn't want to use zip ties so I taped them around the coffee can. I secured it with zip ties while it dried and then removed it. I left some material hanging from the can below to attach the anchor bolt. It worked better than I expected and I'm so happy!
