Conforms to the description, Made in USA

These appear to be solid. They match my eyelets and frames perfectly. I used my Tekton torque wrench 🔧 to tighten them to 90 ft lbs with no problem. I need to check this specification in my owner's manual. The factory nuts they replace are slightly wider, but they must have a rounded edge to hold the sheet metal cover in place.

Pros
  • Handy piece
Cons
  • Doubtful

Better than original OEM tabs

A known issue is that OEM road tag nuts come with steel eyelets with a chrome cap on top. This is problematic as the caps tend to split and you are then stuck on the side of the road without being able to remove the cleats. I replaced my cleats with these well designed McGard nuts. No worries anymore.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Doubtful

Great replacement

For some reason Jeep decided to use 18mm lugs with a 19mm cap. So if you're standing on the side of the road with the wrench that came with the car and the cover comes off, your wrench won't fit in the eyelet - you're stuck. What a stupid idea. These cleats solved that problem for me as they are solid 19mm cleats. I use a portable impact wrench to remove wheels at home for repairs etc - the impact wrench loosens the OEM plugs. I then have to switch the outlet to match the actual bar to remove…

Pros
  • Good value for money
Cons
  • Poor instructions
