With McKay I crush it!

I've been talking about buying a can crusher for a year. We recycle so that between soda cans and water bottles, a family of eight can fill a medium-sized trash can in just under a week. Then came this week. Apparently in the dance of the off-road and other bins we missed a few steps and our bins were not picked up. So now we are faced with an overflowing garbage can and have nowhere to put our closest brothers. So I went back to my research and settled on a McKay 16oz metal can crusher. I work

Simple, cheap. in Kitchen Appliances and Appliances

This article is an exercise in manufacturing economics. The entire device is made of stamped sheet metal, which reduces costs. However, some process engineers actually made money from it. And they call it a "Heavy Duty Model"! I don't think they could make this thing any lighter and still have a working can breaker. The main part of the frame is basically a channel, and the sides form guides for the ram to crawl along. The base is a simple stamping. The same applies to Aries. The lever is made…

Second, I lubricated it first because I knew it needed a lot of lubricating, which is why I recommend it. I only used lock lube. It still works and costs $17. By all means, go for the larger one because glasses come in all shapes and sizes these days and you won't regret it. Yes, the paint has peeled off a bit and the rubber was…

DO NOT BUY! Not at all overwhelmed. Very disappointed

I ordered this grinder because of the "Heavy Duty" label. We used to simply store our 12-ounce aluminum soda cans and 16-ounce plastic bottles (Pellegrino water) without crushing them, but with all the COVID issues, I wanted to store them more compactly and make fewer trips for recycling. The crusher arrived yesterday and using 3 bolts, washers and locknuts I bolted it securely to the metal shelf above where we have our bins. After only 6 bottles were crushed, the rubber mat on the bottom of…
