I have been using these bug remover brushes for over 15 years and have found them safe and effective when used as intended on painted vehicles. These pads will not scratch as the clear coating is harder than the pad material. Incorrect washing habits such as no pre-soak or pre-wash and pre-rinse when heavily soiled are more likely to cause scratches. Wash and rinse before settling on dried bugs.
