Type of review

You know I haven't used it yet so this review will be pretty lame or vague. I'm not new to working with all types of tools and tools from locksmiths to carpenters and most jobs in between including plumbers and electricians. I bought this because every once in a while I needed to make sure I had the right measurements, you know, measure once twice! So I decided to try this, if I do I'll check how it was

Not really worth it

I have quite a lot of scrap and thought it would reduce saw repeat visits but unfortunately it's pretty much useless. I've tried working with this several times with two different tape measures and it's clumsy and a waste of time and money. Says there is a choking hazard - yes, I choke every time I see it in a trim bag and remember spending $13 on it. If I still had the packaging I would send it back today. Not every gadget that hits the market is worth it and this is proof of that. save money

Works BEST on STANDARD tape. Not FatMax

Works! But. Works best with a STANDARD band, but not as well with an internal FatMax band. However, as a long level it works well on a band like FatMax. FatMax tape doesn't bend well in corners, so you'll need to make a tool to add 2 inches for them. On a standard tape measure (about 5/8 inch wide) it does an excellent job measuring inside corners. FatMax doesn't really allow you to use a radius in the corner small enough for the inside dimension tool to work smoothly.

Difficult to use. Suitable for measuring and marking tools

Very difficult to use. It seems like it would be better if I had three arms. With your left hand, hold the end of the tape on one side of the window, with your right hand, hold the tape spool in the air over the right side of the window, and with your third hand, move this tool along the tape at the end of the window sill. Due to the curvature of the blade of my tape measure, its end on the left window sill doesn't exactly fit the window sill. Without this tool, I can hold the tape and bend the

He found it a very useful little tool that took the guesswork out of it.

Revain customer12. July 2018 I bought the add an inch tool for my son who is a DIY enthusiast. He found this to be a very useful little tool that takes the guesswork out of measuring in hard-to-reach places. This avoids cutting off a little more because of measurement uncertainty and then slowly cutting off piece by piece until it fits. An added benefit is the ability to turn your tape measure into a tape measure + spirit level for marking distances. on the wall. All in all, it's an unusually…

Great Angle Gauge

A unique idea to measure angles accurately. As you can see in my picture, the tool fits over your band and displays the exact measurement in a small window. Whatever your window shows, add 1 inch; So in my picture it shows 9 and 7/8 inches. Note that the tail expands 1 inch, so the tail size is a 10 and 7/8. It includes a bubble level so you can keep your measurements level. The Stanley Fatmax might not fit here, but my Lufkin works fine. So if you are trying to measure 8'9 1/4" from the wall…

Solves a real problem and belongs in your toolbox!

Great tool for solving the problem of measuring in a corner or from top to floor. A few quirks: 1) There are no instructions how to install this to tape. I finally figured out that the tape is side loaded - maybe I'm just being slow but it took me about 10 minutes to figure it out. Outside. 2) The ribbon is not stable in the tool, tends to wobble in the holder and even slipped off the ribbon once. I really like this tool because it solves a real problem, so I'll live with the tape alignment…

Three reasons why I put two stars here!

Failed to load media. Here are three reasons I'm giving this two stars: 1. This cheap piece of plastic is probably three times more expensive than it should be. Please note that you can use a standard carpenter's pencil for this measurement as each carpenter's pencil is 0.5 inch wide. Is that so. Simply bring the tape measure to the corner and subtract the specified tape measure width. Carpenters and joiners have been doing this for over 50 years. 3. It's easy to use only in the most ideal…

An excellent sequel from the inventor.

This is the follow up I received from Scott Higginbotham, President of TL Tools, inventor of the Add-an-Inch Tool and my response. These posts speak for themselves. Great tool from a clearly great company. Joseph, glad to hear the tool is helping you. It's great to get feedback on how people are using this tool and I really appreciate you taking the time to reply and let me know. If you don't mind it would be very helpful to me if you would post this in the Revain reviews section of our…
