🔍 Melling 55S1 Oil Pump Filter Assembly Review

Melling pumps and strainers are what I rely on in my 1994 Chevy C2500 5.7L 350. I highly recommend using an oil pump mount or stapling it to ANY brand oil pump. I had the oil pump screen vibrating and it was coming out of the oil pump causing the engine to stall before I could do anything about it.

WORTH THE MONEY. I looked everywhere for this part and Revain had fast shipping at an affordable price. Saved my Chevy from running dry with the high pressure pump I installed. Make sure you receive your intake dimensions correct or you will have to backorder. Would buy again.

It took a lot of work to get this oil pump from me. First there was a big ridge on the lip. I finally got it in the oil pump after hitting it with a 5 lb sled. Just kidding but it was very tight and that's the way it should be. But this one was the hardest I've ever seen.

Does the job. it is not tight in the oil pump. I had to weld it on to make sure it stayed where I planned it. Other than that it was clean and free of welding or foundry slag and debris that shouldn't be there. I would buy it again.

Gripper retainer or tack welding on ANY brand oil pump I have had the gripper screen vibrate and it was coming out of the oil pump and causing catastrophic engine failure before I could do something about it.
