💿 Enhance Performance with 4GB New Memory for Dell Latitude D620 D630 D820 DDR2 Review

I received an old Dell Latitude laptop as a gift. It was virtually useless, with only 1GB of memory, it took 8 minutes to start and often crashed even on the lightest work. The update was easy to install and now runs as fast as any modern mid-range laptop I've tried. So happy with this purchase.

The application I mainly use it with has really been sped up by reducing paging file calls. It's worth the investment, even on an old computer. Installed memory - no problems, works fine. But the packaging is just terrible. The memory was in an ordinary plastic case that was resistant to static electricity. BUT the memory was then placed in a large THIN large plastic envelope - no bubble wrap or even a plain bubble envelope. NO packaging. I was surprised that the memory was still working when I installed it.

The upgrade kit wouldn't even let me enter the BIOS. After playing around with it for an hour I got the old ram back and it worked fine. I ended up having a blue screen related to memory instability. I knew it was a sheep.

One was good and one was bad (I swapped them out to be sure). I'm using a 32-bit operating system, so one was enough. I am now using 3GB of memory when used with the original card. I've used 4GB with 32-bit Windows before with no problems. It just shows up as just over 3 on the system. about 3.2GB. I think the price might be a guide.

I installed them after uninstalling the originals and used the system reinstall CD to boot. SP 1 - SP 3) that Windows no longer supports. It's ok but limited. Windows 7-10 systems are better and supported. So I bought 2 hard drives to upgrade Windows 8-10. To install. It's all simple, it just takes time for each update.

I found a youtube video showing how to do this and followed it. But then I got the message "The size of the system memory has changed" and a suggestion to reallocate memory, which I did several times and always got the same message. there at least 10 minutes max. You will eventually see a dialog box that says "Press F1 to continue or F2 to enter setup". saved my laptop from being thrown in the trash. My husband found that my laptop was constantly freezing due to lack of RAM and this solved the problem. Good decision if you know what you're doing. No problems with shipping/packaging and as advertised. The purchase saved us from having to carry it to the shop and have a $100 bill for the same job.
