Lots of pockets are useful for trips where you have to store random stuff with you. The shorts are comfortable, although my pants are slightly too big, wish there was a 35" waist option. I think these shorts are great and you will not be disappointed. One minor thing is that this type of fabric will sometimes catch lint and stuff from the washer as it is slightly water repellent but then again its a useful feature and it is easy enough to get that stuff off if it does happen.

Shorts are obviously made well. Material seems to be tough, and there is extra stitching problem areas. Water does roll right off rather easily, which is another good point. Shorts have plenty of deep, useful pockets, which is one of the main selling points for me. I do have one minor complaint, and that is these shorts run a little snug. The shorts overall fit the way I expect. The number and placement of pockets is good. The only problem I have is that the thigh pockets are about one cm too short for modern cellphones. For example, with an iPhone 6S, XR, Nexus 2, etc it's not possible to properly close the pocket. It's been 5+ years since the larger phones have become standard, so there's no excuse for not adapting the pattern to handle this.

I really like the metal snap button on the shorts. The metal snap is much stronger than a button, easier to use and longer lasting.Love the larger 1 1/2 inch loops, allows me to wear a more substantial belt for concealed carry.The shorts are light weight, but feel like they have substantial durability.Very similar to the high quality Orvis shorts I like to buy.Only complaint is that I wear a size 38. I've been wearing this model short for over 12 years as daily wear. As far as I'm concerned they are the perfect shorts. Reasonable price for the superior quality. I rotate them to landscaping/yardwork/gardening/hiking shorts as they age. Quality, reliability and functionality is always impeccable. I've purchased at least 40 pair over the years and don't plan on switching to anything else. The corresponding pant is just as good.

These shorts are well constructed. The crotch is gusseted so there is little fear of ripping when crouching or bending. The shorts ride above my knee, I and 6' tall. All pockets are useable, some shorts I have tried are too tight around the thighs making some of the pockets unusable. I do recommend a size up to help with this issue if you have experienced the same problem with other brands.
