Poor quality conversion kits

Looks good but poor quality and not quite true to size. The accelerator pump has backlash problems. Returned my purchase

Pros
  • Build quality
Cons
  • Communication with seller

Didn't fit my 1998 5.0

Nothing fit my carburetor except gaskets even then they seemed a bit big. The nozzles were either different threads or too small to cut into anything. 5.0 1998 for reference.

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • There are cons

Included was everything for a complete makeover!

Everything was fine, I needed all the parts to repair the carburetor. The only issue I had was that the new float that came with the kit was damaged. My old one was still in good condition so it's not a big issue.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Some difficulties

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Poor quality makes the kit unusable.

Replacement parts were far from correct. The swimmer's weight was 50% higher. The piston was too tight, the spring against the seal was too small. I threw everything away but I was able to use 3 pads. Switch to OEM or Sierra next time.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Damaged

Good for the Price: Repair Kits

Most of what you need to rebuild your carburetor is included in the kit. I found a few pieces to be a little out of order. The knee on the accelerator pump was slightly bent so that he wanted to slip off the throttle cable. As this is one of the main components I bought the kit for, I was very disappointed in not being able to use it.

Pros
  • Heavy Duty Finish
Cons
  • Lack of Performance

DO NOT BUY, cheap kit damaged and thin float

DO NOT BUY. The float was thin and damaged, poor quality. Not only was my float damaged, but the gaskets were bent, the gaskets are in the bag with the air mixture screw, filter and accelerator pump. The kits I've bought in the past have used a small piece of cardboard to hold and support the spacers. Spend an EXTRA $10 OR $20 ON A GOOD KIT!

Pros
  • Many positive emotions
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Good work. Not many updates!

So after about 11 months (idling most of the time) the boat started flooding yesterday when idling, after a lot of searching I found out that this BRAND NEW float has cracks in the bottom of it and sank. The spec was 9 grams, now the thing weighed 13.7. I'm putting back the 30 year old Borg Warner and she's back on the water. The quality of this float just isn't what it should be although the rest of the kit is fine so I gave it 3 stars anyway.

Pros
  • One year trial period
Cons
  • Only available in white

Probably a quality issue

Not sure if I did something wrong or a component failed, after rebuilding the boat carb everything worked fine. I drove for half an hour with no problems, reached the lake, a curve around the lake with no problems, then suddenly when the idle speed was lowered the engine died. The wind drove me onto a rock and almost destroyed the boat. Sometimes a small mistake can be expensive. Not sure which component failed, but something went wrong. I think it's the float valve

Pros
  • Impressive
Cons
  • Dull packaging
