Get Your Kid Active with Merrell's Hydro Junior Sport Sandals Review

I really like these shoes, but they are not only very narrow in width, but also in height. I had to buy a size up to fit chubby little feet in, but the shoe was a little clunky for walking.

These shoes are lightweight and dry very quickly, just what I was looking for. They seem to fit well, but I've found that they leave red marks after just a few minutes of wearing. My son hasn't complained about this so I'm not sure if that bothers him or not. All in all I really like these shoes. They were perfect for the beach!

It is great. I was concerned about the velcro as the strap is a bit flimsy and others have mentioned issues. My son has been wearing them almost daily for a month now, no chafing or other issues, velcro and straps are fine.

I did a lot of research before deciding to buy these sandals for my 18 month old son. I've always been a fan of Merrels. My son has baggy shorts so I ordered the toddler size 5.5 wide which is true to size and in summer there was little room to grow. They are easy to put on and my son loves them. I have no doubt they will last all summer. My only complaint is that they smell, but my son wears them almost every day so that's to be expected. I will definitely buy again

Light and comfortable for my little guy. At first he was a bit reluctant to wear them, but now he chooses them himself. I hope they survive the summer.

Great shoes, run a little on the big side. but light and flexible. ideal for the unsure hiker. Good quality, I will definitely buy another pair once my son outgrows them.

My son already had a pair of these and even though he's not even 2 years old he loves these shoes. So I figured I'd better buy a size up in these shoes as they seem to fit him so well, seem so comfortable and he loves them so much. The only downside is that they tend to be very smelly and I can't get rid of the smell just by washing. But my kids can have very sweaty feet because I had the same problem with my daughter's shoes when she was younger.

This is my second time buying these shoes (the first time for the eldest son). They hold up great and are very cute. I decided to buy for my baby but even the wide one was too tight. Too bad because I LOVE these shoes!

These are great sandals. My son has chubby baby feet and the wide width is perfect for him. In the shoe store his feet were exactly a size 7, so I bought him a size 8 to get through the summer (it's late March now). Great fit. My kid loves wearing them and I love how easy they are to put on. So far so good, but time will tell how they hold up.

My kids have very wide feet and we have trouble finding the right shoes. The wide ones actually go well with the hams they call legs and my kids love them. We have bought them several times in almost all sizes. Usually they are enough for a long warm season. My kids would wear them all winter too if I let them, and sometimes I do too. Poorly made. I bought them for my 1.5 year old and had to replace them after 1 month. The soles are completely worn and the sides are worn away, exposing the toes. Also, the velcro doesn't snap properly, so it comes off the track and looks like it might hurt. The velcro is far away, so it's difficult to catch them without really tightening them. I replace them with Keens my other son has and after a month they still look new.

I bought Merrell for my toddler thinking they would last a long time. The sole is very light and shows significant wear after only 3 weeks. I was hoping they would last at least a year but they might not even last a month before the sole wears out. Disappointed as they are not cheap either. My other child has a pair of Keens that have held up much better.

LOVE LOVE LOVE these shoes! We live near several parks with streams for children to play in. I no longer have to worry about bringing uncomfortable water shoes. They're also comfortable enough for all-day wear and are only suitable for summer sandals. My kids (twins) have NEVER complained about these shoes hurting them. They also like to splash in puddles and I just let them dry or hose them down. I will be buying them again next year and I highly recommend them.

Very nice, light sandals for the summer. It doesn't have a massive big toe for kids to trip over. Too bad the legs grow so fast!

These are great looking shoes so I paid full price for them. They survived several months of play with my active toddler. However, the upper rubs red marks on the tip of my son's foot - above the knuckle of his big toe. When I feel the inside of the seams, I understand why they bother me. The seams feel very rough. He takes them off as soon as he gets in the car or comes home. I agree with others who have mentioned that they too can get smelly after a while.

I bought them for my grandson's birthday at the end of June. His birthday was at the end of July. He got 2 pairs of shoes for his birthday and these shoes didn't fit him. So I went to get them back and found that I can't return them because it's been 30 days! Very disappointed. Now I have a pair of expensive shoes that don't fit anyone. I would like to be able to return them.

This is his second pair and he always wears them with socks. Wear them around the house and outside to play. They are very flexible, light and soft. I believe they are true.

I really wanted these shoes to fit my son. They seemed comfortable but unfortunately I had to send them back because they weren't wide enough even though I ordered a large size. As soon as I put them on my son started complaining and you can tell they were too tight.

I bought a pair for my 19 month old. He has wide legs. After measuring his feet I bought a 7.5 wide. The sandals seem to put a lot of pressure points on my small feet and they don't feel nearly as comfortable as I thought they would. I don't wear them for long periods of time because of the risk of blistering. From here I will follow the rite of passage. Believe me.
