Easy to install and configure.

One of the best non-threaded adjustable stems. Most of them have an adjustment offset from the head tube that can keep the handlebars low for comfort, even when fully adjusted. This moves the pivot over the head tube like the threaded version, giving you all the benefits of a pivot. There's also plenty of room above the connecting bolts to allow for a great deal of height adjustment. Just remember to keep the top of the steerer tube flush with the top of the upper link bolt. Works well on the Trek 820 mountain bike.

I felt like leaning too far forward on my new Trek 820 and wanted to sit more upright. I've been arguing between this and replacing the handlebars with more lift and/or stem. Looking at pictures and reading reviews, this adjustable stem seemed solid and functional. If that alone didn't get me the height I was looking for, I'd swap out the handlebar for the next one. I bought this to replace the original stem on my Cannondale Quick 1 and get a more upright riding position. As others have noted, this stem is very well made and I particularly liked the fact that the adjustment is on the top of the tube rather than the front. The adjustment actually has teeth that mesh when tightened, making it much better than a friction-based system. From the way it feels when pulled, I can't imagine it ever slipping off.
