This item was a little disappointing. Part quality was cheap and things didn't run that smoothly. I was hoping to use it for large thread/yarn spindles to hold them when reloading spools, but this stand will not hold large spindles due to the weight. You must seriously consider what you intend to use this item for before purchasing.

I would not recommend this item. It must be bolted to a solid platform. I don't recommend using it as a freestanding reel seat as the base is lightweight and made out of cheap thin bent metal. In the end I removed the subframe, sawed off the screw and tightened the nut directly. This allowed me to lower the center of gravity and make it usable. I may not modify the product to make it useful.

You get what you pay for. One of the threaded rods had snapped off, luckily there was an extra nut in the box so you know the quality is lacking. The base is thin metal and flexes slightly with the slightest push from the main bar, the thread guides look like thin hanger wire and are set in an odd way. This thing won't last long with regular use, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone, I wouldn't buy it again, I wouldn't make permanent screw holes in my desk for this product,
