📻 Metra 88-00-9008 VW Dashboard Radio Installation Kit for 1999-2006 Models Review

Fairly weak. Be careful when installing. Especially if you are trying to install a head unit. It wasn't very impressive, but it worked.

Fills in the extra space left over after replacing a double din car stereo like the Monsoon head unit with an aftermarket single din stereo. Offers a pocket for multiple CDs or whatever.

It would be great if the kit included screws for installation as intended! The tabs on the side broke right after installation. Generally rubbish! I will not buy anything from this company again.

Fits perfectly in my car, really saves a life but sometimes it felt like it slipped out a little. I think it was the way they installed my new radio cables because I used to unplug them and wiggle some of the cables and then plug them back in and never had that problem again.

This product fits my Jetta 02 perfectly, maybe even too perfectly. It fits well, but when it's in, it's in. So make sure you do it right and set it up properly because once the head unit is in place, it will be difficult to remove it without the head unit removal keys. It's so designed for stability, which is why I'm giving it four stars. Should come with directions. Or just the best travel destinations in general.

The problem I had with this product was that the cable holes on the back weren't big enough for a standard USB cable. I was trying to run a USB cable from the back of my head radio through the back of it so my iPod can sit in my pocket without dangling wiring all over the car. First of all, the OEM replacement dash is over $100 at major VW/Audi dealers. Not wanting to pay that much, I turned to Revain. Yes, it's plastic, and no, it's nowhere near as good as the OEM Dash Pocket. But it does its job very well!
