Look elsewhere for quality

The kit fits two sizes of Honda Element. The quality is terrible, flimsy, brittle plastic. Broke when carefully inserting the side panels into the front panel. It looks like a disposable product. Not good if you need to make adjustments for installation. I had to do creative repairs.

Pros
  • Hands free operation
Cons
  • Good but not great

Overall a good product

Used to install 7 inch head unit, fits perfectly. However, the fasteners are plastic, not metal. So be careful not to overtighten the screws or the plastic will break. You must also use genuine OEM mounting screws. Overall good product.

Pros
  • Trial for one year
Cons
  • Reliability

I have used this twice and in both cases I had to cut and modify the frame and supports to make them work for my application. This involved removing a large portion of the interior to fit the intended radio and drilling special holes to install mounting screws for proper alignment. Honda Element 2003.

Take your time and it works great.

I am very attentive to details and it meets my expectations. Was very worried after some reviews but I had no problems. The deck was MVH1400NEX. I took some screws from Ace Hardware that fitted well, attached 3 pieces (two side clips to the deck skin) and then lined up the holes where I needed them. It took every 5 minutes. Put it in the double slot on the car and attach the second pad and it will fit perfectly. You need to remove the clips from the old panel. So don't waste them. Also, theโ€ฆ

Beware it can break

I wasn't blown away by this dashboard kit. very thin sides and the device sits too far back. If you have a device with side buttons, pressing the buttons will be problematic. I tried changing it so that the unit was closer to the front and about 1/4 inch closer, but that made the frame even more fragile. A universal set is available that gives the best results. I'm not sure what the part number is but there are some videos online using this universal kit due to this issue. My kit broke on theโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Heavy duty
Cons
  • Long delivery time

Purchased to complete the installation of a Pioneer AVH-1400NEX on a Honda Element. This piece's bezel, which wraps around the two-tier stereo system, protrudes above the faceplate, causing the controls and screen to be recessed by 1/2 inch rather than flush. If I had known that, I would not have ordered this product. There is no way to change it or adapt it to the front of the dashboard. I returned it straight away. Unless you want it sunk (1 extra star for that particular sunk finish) I would

Cheap. kind of works.

This unit consists of three parts: plates to adapt the HU to the element mounting screws, the HU bezel trim and the replacement instrument panel. While it appears to work, the quality is about what I would expect from a cheap mass-produced imitation. The HU's bezel trim was a little tight on the specific HU I used, but this can be fixed by cutting off some of the plastic. Annoying, but not the biggest problem. Dashboard replacement is a complete POS. The brackets don't fit snugly in the dashโ€ฆ

Perfect fit for the 2003 Honda Element!

I have previously ordered another double din kit because Revane said it would not fit my car. However if you are replacing a Honda Element 03-07 head unit then this kit is for you. The plastic is a bit flimsy compared to the metal "ears" of the factory radio. In fact, you can be more adventurous than me and find out how to use genuine parts. I hooked it up along with the stereo I bought and the radio was installed within 20 minutes. Two (very small) caveats though: 1) The new frame that comesโ€ฆ

Plastic filler with some problems

Converting the stock Honda Element radio to 2 DIN standard works, but not without problems. Advantages: 1. Converts oversized OEM space to standard 2 DIN.2. Not pictured but comes with replacement side panels wrap around (1" filler either side of the radio). Cons: 1. Suspenders are plastic, not metal like OEM. As a result, they can bend and not install your radio properly.2. Will not work with existing side panels on my 2004 Honda Element. The radio and its surrounding filler are inclined andโ€ฆ
