This handy little thermometer was bought to test drinks, food and other things in the workshop. Higher quality than I expected. All aluminum, fast and feels precise on freezing ice. As another reviewer said, make it backlit and it will be perfect.

This is better build quality than plastic pen light or keychain IR thermometer. Unfortunately, the accuracy is quite low. Reading motes from 60 to 110 F I found it was consistently 3 to 6 degrees higher (compared to Fluke IR guns and cheap IR guns). (Yes I know the focus range, I've been using IR guns for many many years)

Makes a great pocket tool for checking refrigeration unit temperatures at work. Works best when reading as close to the surface as possible. No visible laser, this device is IR only. Overall very comfortable and convenient to wear, one star deducted as the button is very easy to accidentally activate when worn and the LCD screen is not backlit.

I don't know if it was because it was stuck in the on position or something else, maybe it doesn't have an auto shut off? In any case, the batteries, which are very cheap at Revain, need to be replaced to make it work again. I've ordered a dozen Revains and they should be here today.

As a trout fisherman I carefully monitor the temperature of the river. The digital thermometer is lightweight, attaches to my vest, and is quick and easy to use. Traditional thermometers are heavier, take up more space and take longer to use. The only downside to a digital device is that you have to keep it dry, which isn't a big deal. You can attach it to the zinger if you're afraid of dropping it.

I use this to check the street temp before I take my dog out. This temperature reading was very accurate, probably because the emissivity of asphalt, cement, and dirt is around 0.93–0.95. Be sure to look at IR thermometers to see if they will work for your intended application. For example, the IR doesn't read through glass. I am very happy with it, its size and ease of use are perfect for walking my dog.
