I lowered the bike rack so I can see over the bikes in front of my truck.

When I use my caravan I ride my bikes in front of my truck which wasn't ideal as the bikes could cover parts of the road unless I move my head a lot (which I'm used to). to do now). This extension allows me to lower the rack to have a better view of the bikes. It's still not perfect as I have lower ground clearance now, but it's good to be able to see more of the road.

Didn't work for me Tow chucks and winches

This is a reliable piece of equipment. It arrived in perfect condition and matched my hitch perfectly. Unfortunately it touched the painted bumper of my 2010 Honda Odysey with a trailer hitch. There is practically no gap between the lacquer and the backing. I could squeeze a piece of rubber or felt to protect the paint, but that's not ideal for me. I work fine with my 2016 Honda Pilot with a short hitch, but it just adds height to where the stock receiver should be anyway.

Extremely well built. A solid device

The thing is strong! Very heavy - nothing cheap or flimsy about it. I bought it after the 2 inch version I bought didn't fit my trailer. My 2" drop down version is from the same manufacturer and is also very strong. That's why I went with the same manufacturer/seller. In any case, the photos show the closed ends of the rod for the tip of the hitch. It is a hard metal which is why it is so heavy and strong. The welds look very solid too.Very happy with this adapter/clutch offset.

Maybe we're dead already. Don't buy this!

I bought this adapter because my car hitch was too high for my trailer. We came back from the camp, my family and I, and he just broke down. I heard a very loud noise as I pulled out of the gas station where I was filling up to go home. And when I went to see what it was, look what I found! If it broke on the road at high speed I wouldn't be writing this review now. My family and I could be dead by now. Look at the pictures, Jesus! My trailer only weighs about 4,000 pounds! I am grateful that…

Surplus is good

Wow! it is a considerable piece of steel. I've used it to raise the bike mount 4 inches, which keeps the rear end of the mount from scratching the floor in driveways. The part that goes into the receiver is hard steel, all the welds are very large and yes you can use a hitch. I'm going to add a second hitch tensioner on the other end to take out all the play, which is totally optional, but I love Overkill and if you like Overkill this is a hitch extender for you.

  • Ugly packaging

It was just what I needed to mount my awesome new 1-SEAT bike rack a bit lower and further back to clear the barn door and spare tire on my FJ. The product is very durable (literally - the shaft is not a pipe, but a piece of iron). I paired it with the basic anti-rattle clutch tensioner you see in the photos and everything feels extremely stiff. This was the cheapest solution to my problem and seemed reliable enough that I'm confident I made the right choice.

Doesn't extend far enough

I have a 2017 Toyota Sienna, I bought it to raise the trunk but it doesn't extend far enough. Using the furthest hole this adapter still hits my rear bumper and I had to push it against the bumper to push the pin through. I then used a rag to minimize scratches or dents, but now I need to figure out how to extend it in the future. Height wise 4 inches was better than nothing, I had trouble getting off the road but had no other problems on the road. Driven it over 300 miles and everything was…

Super strong and big deal!

This is a beautifully built piece with a heavy powder coat finish and due to its oversized design I suspect it can handle significantly more drawbar and drawbar weight than advertised. The part that goes into your receiver is a one-piece stem and the drop has large creases. Also, it's the only extension I've seen with 3 holes drilled into the receiver mount, and compared to other mounts that use a slide bar, the price is incredibly low. Unfortunately, as it turned out, I needed a 6-inch drop…

So far it works very well!

I have a front receiver with a winch and bracket that I put on in winter just in case. But my truck (Chevy K1500 94) doesn't have the highest ground clearance and can turn into a mini plow with a winch installed! So I've always wanted something to raise the winch, but still allow me to "skip" if I have to (not those low risers meant for mounting on a bike). This boner seemed to fit the bill and did it pretty well. My only downside is that I can only use 2 of the 3 holes (the bottom of my…
