Microfiber does not always absorb well. I have purchased microfiber towels many times and they have done a great job of moving water. It doesn't apply to these. Can use were surprisingly absorbent. I deeply regret this purchase. They seem to dry things out well. But they still have the same terribly dry feel to the touch as most microfibers. This makes it very difficult to dry dishes or use them without gloves. These towels also leave 10X more lint than my previous towels, so I wouldn't recommend using them on anything you don't want a million tiny particles to stick to when you're done.

I've been using kitchen towels and cooking on gas stoves for decades. Over the years I've used kitchen towels that are all or mostly cotton with no issues with sticking or flammability.
