almost impossible to get close to 1200X

I use this to work with tiny PCBs with SMD parts. It's perfectly acceptable for this purpose, however the screen could be brighter and colors will become a bit washed out with more gain or brightness. Functionally it works, and the 7-inch screen is less easy on the eyes than the smaller screen. Higher gain (or magnification) requires the optics to be very close to the subject and this makes it very difficult to work on anything with the revolver so close to the board. Overall I would rate this…

Cons
  • I vaguely remember

I don't even know where to start, this digital microscope is just great. I like the vertical screen - it allows the whole family to see the product at the same time. It's so easy to zoom in and out and focus while moving. Love the camera feature - you can take a picture of what you're looking at so you can upload it from your SD card and print it out or fill in blank charts. You can also record videos - that would be really great for soldering tutorial videos (original reason we bought it)…

Cons
  • Long delivery time

You need to learn how to write the user manual

The manual that came with this camera is totally useless. I can make up for the apparent lack of English writing skills by growing up in a dysfunctional English-speaking environment, but what I can't stand is the lack of clear instructions on how to use the tool. There are no setup instructions, instead a full page of "manual" is dedicated to telling you how cool your instrument is and how it differs from other devices! The other side of the manual is just a list of specs, nothing on how to…

A must for young children.

Please remember this is a magnifying glass, not a microscope, you cannot see inner cells or microscopic bacteria with it. It does an excellent job of magnifying objects that would normally be impossible to see without a quality magnifying glass. The video screen is of average quality since you get a 12-megapixel camera. The money is in the camera, not the video screen. If you connect them to a high-quality video monitor, the image resolution will be greatly improved. This is a must for young…

  • Infinitely slow

That thing is cool! Complaints misunderstand how to use it.

For those who complained that they couldn't get more than 4x magnification, didn't bother raising or lowering the scope relative to the sample to compare the optical magnification to digital 1x to 4x zoom. Watch the attached video to see how I prove them wrong and zoom in on the individual wing scales of a butterfly (which I found outside - no butterflies were harmed in this video). This little thing is amazing! I see this will come in very handy for those involved in micro soldering and…

Cons
  • Almost everything is fine

This is NOT a 1200x microscope.

The microscope works well but does not match the description. Tilt occurs first, but the lens stays at the same angle, so it's fine when shooting at low power, but useless at high power. Second, the LEDs are bright, but they need to be further apart for a low-power display. They create too much reflection from LEDs that close. You have to turn the brightness down to get rid of the reflection and then the picture gets very dark. You need to place other light sources around the microscope to get…
