They are great for antennas

Have been using them for years and for the money you can't beat them. I've just started running it on my Reaistic TRC474 which has been in storage for years and is still working fine both sending and receiving. <<<<<<The only complaint I have with them is that the base of the spring starts to rust after running them for a while.>>>>>>>> Looks bad and can affect performance if the corrosion is bad enough. Although I would recommend it.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Poor instructions

Impossible to tune perfectly but decent for the money

If you are looking for a low SWR tuner on channels 1-40 this is not it. . In any case, using channel 19 is fine as it occurs in the middle. For $20, that's fine, but like I said, if you're expecting the perfect tune, it's not.

Good antenna for accessories and consumables

This is a darn good little center loaded antenna. I swapped out a Hustler antenna that didn't work with it and it matched the SWR to 1.5 for both channels 1 and 40. I was on the phone straight away. I installed it on the trunk lid of my 2011 Dodge Charger and the magnetic mount is strong enough to hold it at 90mph on the freeway. That looks good too. I've spoken to people 20 miles away but that's mostly geographic and I'm on the top of a ridge overlooking the lower valleys in the Puyallup Wah…

Not bad for the price

Not bad but not great, very high SWR on the roof, moved to the trunk it was much better there. I've never had much luck with center load antennas, base load antennas seemed to work better, especially on the roof where the antenna is supposed to be. It seems to catch up decently against my streetcar 3500 for 3 miles. I haven't spoken to it much, I had my mom put it on her car to test my other antenna. I drove 3 miles in this test, but that might be the limitation of my other antenna. I just…

My observations on audio and video accessories

I had a hard time reading the reviews on Revain and the web on which 27MHz antenna to buy. I have a Midland 75-822 CB radio. This antenna has high quality components. I particularly prefer the center load antenna over the 11m base load antenna where the CB radios are located. They are more efficient than baseload antennas but not as efficient as topload antennas. You will find that many truckers have center loading and sometimes top loading antennas. I find the transmit and receive aspects of…

Pretty disappointed

Trying to adjust the top whip for the correct SWR got me so frustrated I didn't try for a day. The next time I tried it, I found out why I couldn't get predictable results. (By moving the whip in small increments, there should be a discernible point where it is lowest and then increases again, ie SWR). I had to move the antenna from the center of the roof of my truck to the edge to tune it and I tried to get it back on center with an accuracy of half an inch. I haven't found a suitable fixed…
